Come and join us for a festive Ystwyth CC Sunday Ride on the 4th December. Join either the 9:00am Club Run (16-18mph pace) or the Social Ride (13-15mph) both groups will be leaving Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth and will meet for 11am at the White Lion, Talybont to enjoy festive mince pies and mulled wine.

Ystwyth CC shortlisted for Welsh Cycling Awards
The Welsh Cycling Awards were held in Cardiff on the 29th October to celebrate the successes of Welsh cyclists, achievements and dedications of volunteers, clubs and coaches in Wales. With more than 165 cycling clubs affiliated to Welsh Cycling, Ystwyth CC were shortlisted for ‘Club of the Year’ and awarded runners up in this competitive category, this was a fantastic achievement for the club.
The club also had another reason to celebrate at the Awards night, Chris Jones had been shortlisted for his hard work in setting up the Junior section of the club and was nominated for ‘Coach of the Year’ award.
2017 – It’s going to be a good one
Thanks to everyone that came along to the club AGM we had a fantastic turnout. The updated list of committee members is available on the website. There were some great ideas raised from the discussions, which the committee have noted and will discuss at the first meeting. If you didn’t have a chance to attend and would like to pass on ideas and feedback for the club please contact any member of the committee or email anitasaycell@gmail.com .
Wales Air Ambulance Charity Ride
The YCC Air Ambulance Charity ride is this coming saturday the 8th, the plan is to all meet outside Cambrian Tyres from half 8 aiming to start leaving around 9.
We will head to Welshpool via Borth and Machynlleth then back via Llanidloes.
Donations are coming in nicely and their will be a charity evening later on in the year to raise more. It sounds like we will have a wide range of riders coming on saturday with some turning back in Machynlleth. The more the merrier and all abilities are welcome.
To ease road congestion and keep the pace suitable for all we will split the group up depending on how many turn up will depend on how many groups but each group will have a unofficial “leader” and should ride at the pace of the slowest member. Slower groups will go of first with gaps left between each group.
We have Keith following in his van for mechanical issues and their will be some emergency food and water plus a few extra layers thrown in incase needed.
Hope to see you all their saturday morning! and hopefully the sun will be out. Don’t forget to donate anything you can, its a great cause.
