Aberystwyth skills session for all ages and abilities – Saturday 14th January
These will be coached sessions based at Canolfan Rheidol, Council Offices in Aberystwyth.
2:15 to 3:15 – Skills and exercises for all ages and abilities. We will probably split into two or three groups for these.
There will also be a women’s only group running which will concentrate on cornering, braking and gearing. This needs to be booked in advance by emailing c.jones.285@btinternet.com
3:30 to 4:30 – Fitness and efforts for the older ones and any adults. These will be building up the speed around a circuit and riding in groups in preparation for the races being run by WWCRT in March, the Abercyclefest races along with any other event you might enter.
Take on the 2017 Ystwyth Jersey Challenge
To help launch our 65th anniversary year we are kicking off with the Ystwyth Jersey Challenge.
Throughout 2017 we want you to share photos of yourself and where you have taken the Ystwyth CC Club Jersey.
Whether you are riding a sportive, racing, time trialling or just enjoying a ride either home or away. Share your photos and location either on our Facebook page, tag them on Twitter #ystwythjerseychallenge or email them to ystwythcc@gmail.com
We will collate all the photos in an album on our Facebook page. Our club sponsor Summit Cycles have kindly agreed to award the winning photo a £65 prize voucher!

It’s going to be an exciting year for the club as we will be celebrating the Ystwyth Cycling Club’s 65th year with many social events and rides planned.
Ystwyth Festive Ride, Tuesday 27th December
During Christmas week, we will move our usual Sunday rides to Tuesday, 27th December, with both rides (club run and social) meeting at 9.30 at Plascrug Leisure Centre. Mince Pies and Mulled Wine Sunday Rides
Come and join us for a festive Ystwyth CC Sunday Ride on the 4th December. Join either the 9:00am Club Run (16-18mph pace) or the Social Ride (13-15mph) both groups will be leaving Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth and will meet for 11am at the White Lion, Talybont to enjoy festive mince pies and mulled wine.

Ystwyth CC shortlisted for Welsh Cycling Awards
The Welsh Cycling Awards were held in Cardiff on the 29th October to celebrate the successes of Welsh cyclists, achievements and dedications of volunteers, clubs and coaches in Wales. With more than 165 cycling clubs affiliated to Welsh Cycling, Ystwyth CC were shortlisted for ‘Club of the Year’ and awarded runners up in this competitive category, this was a fantastic achievement for the club.
The club also had another reason to celebrate at the Awards night, Chris Jones had been shortlisted for his hard work in setting up the Junior section of the club and was nominated for ‘Coach of the Year’ award.
2017 – It’s going to be a good one
Thanks to everyone that came along to the club AGM we had a fantastic turnout. The updated list of committee members is available on the website. There were some great ideas raised from the discussions, which the committee have noted and will discuss at the first meeting.
