Pugh Powers to Victory on Challenging Cwm Rheidol Course — Round 12 Time Trial Results
Riders faced the scenic but demanding Cwm Rheidol 10-mile course on Wednesday, 23 July, for Round 12 of the Ystwyth CC / Catalina Architecture 2025 Time Trial Series. Despite a course that tests pacing and climbing legs alike, fast times were still on the cards.
Caron Pugh continued his fine form, taking the win in 21:59, having hit the halfway point in 10:42. His consistency on both the flat and the return climb proved the difference, keeping him comfortably ahead of the rest of the field.
Second place went to Scott Tompsett, who posted 23:47 (halfway: 11:26), closely followed by Jamie Lloyd in 23:59 (halfway: 11:36). Both showed strong pacing, with solid second halves on the return leg from the turnaround.
Among the road bike category (no tri bars), Kristian Bond (R) was the fastest, finishing in 24:28 (halfway: 11:44), continuing his steady improvement across the series.
