Windy Conditions Challenge Riders in Ystwyth CC Time Trial
Despite the absence of rain, strong winds posed a significant challenge for the seven riders who took to the start line. Beginning one minute apart, the competitors set off from Llanbadarn, heading towards Capel Bangor before turning at the halfway point in the Rheidol Valley and making their return journey.
Andrew Gittins (Caffi Gruff) made an impressive debut in the Ystwyth CC time trial, not only securing the win but also finishing two and a half minutes ahead of the second-place rider and coming within twenty-two seconds of the course record. Arwel Jones delivered a strong performance to take second place, while Adam Hepburn, riding a road bike, powered his way to finish third.
In the women’s event, Lowri Richards of Wales Racing Academy showed no signs of fatigue following her second-place finish at the Welsh Road Championships on Sunday, comfortably taking the win on the night.
The next event in the series is the 10-mile Cwm Rheidol course. More details can be found at Ystwyth CC Time Trial Series.
